Lenovo Moto G4 & Moto G4 Plus Unveiled

Lenovo has introduced its first three smartphones under the Lenovo Moto brand, namely the Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4, and Moto G4 Play. The Moto G4 Plus is the more powerful of the two as it comes with a 5.5-inch display of 1080p Full HD resolution with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB of expandable internal storage, depending on which configuration to choose. It goes without saying that it runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with very minor tweaks.

The Moto G4 Plus also packs a 16-MP OmniVision PureCell Plus rear shooter with 1.3 micron pixels, an f/2.0 aperture, hybrid auto-focus (laser plus phase detection), and dual-tone, dual LED flash. In front, a 5-MP selfie camera with 84-degree wide-angle lens can be found. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and LTE (with VoLTE support) but NFC is missing. It also has a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charge support (a turbo charger is included in the box) and a fingerprint scanner in its home button. It will come in black and white color options with interchangeable back plates (sold separately). Pricing of the Lenovo Moto G4 Plus starts at $200.

Meanwhile, we have the Lenovo Moto G4 with more modest specifications. It has the same screen, processor, battery size, and connectivity features with the Moto G4 Plus. However, its memory is fixed at 2GB RAM and internal storage at 16GB or 32GB. It also does not have an embedded fingerprint scanner and a turbo charger is not part of the package. Imaging-wise, the Moto G4 has a more generic 13-MP rear camera with dual-tone, dual LED flash and a 5-MP front-facing shooter. There's no word yet on its pricing but it is expected to be much cheaper than the Moto G4 Plus.

Last but not the least, we have the Moto G4 Play, which features a 5-inch display of 720p HD resolution and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. It has an 8-MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5-MP wide-angle selfie shooter. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE, and dual-SIM support. A 2,800 mAh battery will keep its lights on. It is expected to be the cheapest of the bunch.
